We support the East African Community in setting up mobiles laboratories in the outbreak region and bordering countries.

The established mobile laboratories network is active and in many countries the teams have already set up the labs for providing rapid diagnostics and surveillance near the ports of entry at the borders. 

These labs are currently set up: 

• DRC: 1 lab in Beni, North Kivu

• Burundi: 1 lab in Kobero POE, Muyinga Commune, Buhumuza Province

• Uganda: 2 labs in Bwera hospital, Kasese District 

• Rwanda: 2 labs in Gisenyi and Kihundwe Health Districts

• Tanzania: 2 labs in Bukoba and Kigoma

• Kenia: 1 lab in Busia

• South Sudan: 1 lab in Nimule
